Greg Gaines says yes to Boise State

The Boise State Broncos added their fourth 2014 pledge Friday with defensive tackle Greg Gaines (La Habra, Calif./La Habra), according to the Idaho Press-Tribune.

Boise State topped scholarship offers from Colorado and Nevada for Gaines' verbal. The 6-foot-1, 297-pound talent also received interest from Arizona, California and Northwestern among others.

“I've been thinking about it for a while now,” Gaines told the Press-Tribune. “I really love the area. I like that I can go fishing and hunting and snowboarding all about 20 minutes from the campus. I love the coaching staff, the facilities. Everything is great. I just really like the weather up there. I like it cold.”

The Press-Tribune also reports that Gaines has family in Idaho, has been following the Broncos since their 2007 Fiesta Bowl victory over Oklahoma, and recently visited campus twice for a junior day and the spring game.

Gaines posted impressive combine figures this offseason on the Nike circuit, including a 5.25 40-yard dash, 4.75 20-yard shuttle, 28.4-inch vertical, 41-foot power throw and 83.99 SPARQ.
