Georgia Tech secured a pledge from 6-foot-2, 195-pound athlete Jalen Johnson (Oneonta, Ala./Oneonta), multiple sources report. He could play receiver or defensive back at the next level.
Furman and Southern Miss also extended scholarship offers to Johnson. Other programs, including Auburn and Tennessee, expressed interest.
According to Scout.com, Johnson has caught 115 passes for 1,844 yards and 29 touchdowns over the last two seasons. During that time, he also registered 143 total tackles and nine interceptions.
The Yellow Jackets have three players on board for 2014. A pair of three-stars, safety Miles Taylor (Washington/Gonzaga) and linebacker Tre Jackson (Valdosta, Ga./Lowdnes), committed in March.
