Tar Heels add DL Powell, DB Bonilla

North Carolina's 2014 recruiting class grew to 10 with commitments from Tyler Powell (Midlothian, Va./Cosby) and Ayden Bonilla (Woodstock, Ga./Etowah), multiple sources report.

Powell is a highly coveted, 6-foot-4, 252-pound defensive tackle with offers from Boston College, Bucknell, Charlotte, Cincinnati, Connecticut, Duke, Hampton, Indiana, James Madison, Marshall, Michigan State, Purdue, Syracuse, Temple, Wake Forest, West Virginia, William & Mary and Wisconsin.

He displayed impressive athleticism this spring on the Nike combine circuit, including an electronically-timed 5.05 40-yard dash, 4.60 20-yard shuttle, 29.1-inch vertical, 39-foot power throw and 86.58 SPARQ.

Bonilla, a 6-foot-1, 199-pound safety, picked the Tar Heels over a scholarship offer from Vanderbilt. Boston College, Duke, Maryland, Miami (Fla.), Middle Tennessee and Mississippi State expressed interest.

He also shined during this offseason at a Nike combine, posting a 4.67 40, 4.38 shuttle, 33.4 vertical, 33-foot power throw and 90.45 SPARQ.

Powell and Bonilla will be included as part of ESPN RecruitingNation's next rankings update.
