Penn State adds ESPN 300 DL Ellison Jordan

Penn State continued its hot streak on the recruiting trail by picking up a commitment from ESPN 300 defensive tackle Ellison Jordan on Friday. Jordan is the No. 135 ranked prospect overall and gives the Nittany Lions two ESPN 300 commitments along the defensive line.

Jordan is the third defensive line commit in four days for Penn State, joining three-star tackle Christian Colon and Michael Dwumfour.

Defensive tackle was a huge need for Penn State, which only landed one interior lineman in the 2015 class and two in 2014.

Jordan will help with depth at the position, but he also hails from Maryland powerhouse program Gilman in Baltimore. The school regularly has top-ranked prospects, and reeling in this big fish could help the Nittany Lions with other prospects down the road.

Penn State now has seven ESPN 300 commits and 15 commitments total in the 2016 class. Prior to Jordan’s commitment, the Nittany Lions had the No. 8 ranked class in the country and No. 2 in the Big Ten behind Ohio State.
