          Best of the college football recruiting visits: Big 12

          With four Big 12 teams playing road games and the others hosting mediocre non-conference opponents, most coaches decided to hold off on bringing in a lot of top prospects for weekend visits. Even so, there were several schools that did play host to a few prospects, and here’s a social media-driven look at what took place.

          Oklahoma was one of the few schools that had a solid crew of prospects on campus, including three official visitors. One of those visitors was Johncarlo Valentin, a 6-foot-4, 346-pound offensive guard from Philadelphia Imhotep Institute Charter. And from all indications he was pretty fired up to be visiting OU.

          One of the other big visitors for Oklahoma was Miami (Oklahoma) Northeastern Oklahoma Junior College cornerback Maurice Chandler. The 6-1, 190-pounder committed to the Sooners earlier this summer over a slew of offers from major programs, and it certainly looks like a decision he doesn’t regret one bit. The other scheduled official visitor for the Sooners was Florida State linebacker commit Tyree Horton of Highland (Kansas) Highland Community College.

          Not only does Charleston Rambo have one of the best names in the 2017 class, he’s also one of the most coveted prospects in the country. The 6-0, 155-pound ESPN Junior 300 receiver from Cedar Hill (Texas) High School has plenty of major offers, including from Texas Tech. Rambo was in Lubbock this weekend for an unofficial visit, and he said he had a lot of fun while in town.

          Rambo was joined on the visit by his teammate, Camron Buckley, who is also another highly-coveted receiver prospect.

          Three-star athlete Isaiah Harris of Fort Worth (Texas) All Saints was one of the small group of visitors in Manhattan, Kan., this weekend to watch the Wildcats beat South Dakota 34-0. Harris, a K-State pledge, was joined fellow Wildcat commits Nick Lenners and Mason Barta.

          With the Cyclones hosting Northern Iowa, Iowa State’s visit list consisted mainly of junior prospects. This included guys like Peculiar (Missouri) Ray-Pec High School defensive end Anthony Payne.
