Best of the college football recruiting visits: Big Ten

It turned out to be an exciting weekend in the Big Ten with some down-to-the-wire games across the conference. There were a ton of top recruits who took in the games, and below is a look at the best visits from social media:

Rutgers:

The Scarlet Knights fell short in the attempt to beat No. 4 ranked Michigan State, but the game itself was exciting. The staff had a ton of top targets on campus, including No. 1-ranked Rashan Gary and the No. 2 ranked prospect in the 2017 class, offensive lineman Isaiah Wilson.

Rutgers also had ESPN Junior 300 defensive lineman Joshua Paschal and 2017 prospect Ayinde Eley in for the game.

The visiting recruits took notice of the play on the field, and 2017 linebacker target Tyshon Fogg tweeted about how it impacted him.

Nebraska:

The Cornhuskers had another nail-biter with a close loss to Wisconsin, but it seems the visiting prospects enjoyed themselves nonetheless.

Receiver Keyshawn Johnson Jr., an ESPN Jr. 300 prospect, took another visit to Nebraska and tweeted about his experience.

The staff also hosted some commitments, including quarterback Patrick O’Brien and 2016 target C.J. Riley, who sent a picture of himself and some of the other visitors in the Nebraska locker room.

Ohio State:

The Buckeyes defeated Maryland at home and were able to host a few prospects for the game.

Ohio State had a lot of buzz last signing day when Michigan running back Mike Weber decided to stick with his commitment to the Buckeyes. The staff might have the opportunity to land another back from Michigan in 2017 athlete Antjuan Simmons, who was in Columbus on Saturday.

Simmons even tweeted out a picture with himself and Weber in the locker room.

The staff also hosted 2017 defensive lineman Ray Horton for the game among others.

Penn State:

The Nittany Lions had a bit of a rough start to the season, but still only have one loss in coach James Franklin’s second season at the helm.

The staff took the opportunity to host some targets, including 2017 prospect Jordan Williams, who was offered on his visit.

Penn State also brought in ESPN Jr. 300 safety Damani Neal to take in the win against Indiana. Neal documented the experience with a video from the stands.

Michigan:

The Wolverines had the biggest weekend in the conference in terms of visitors as the staff was able to convince No. 1 ranked running back and Ohio State commit, Kareem Walker, to take an official visit.

Walker hung out with some of the Michigan commits, including fellow New Jersey prospect Ahmir Mitchell.

Walker wasn’t the only prospect committed elsewhere to visit Michigan as Walker’s teammate and Nebraska commit, Quayshon Alexander, was also visiting as well as Penn State kicker commit, Quinn Nordin, according to Michigan commit Erik Swenson.
