BATON ROUGE, La. -- By slipping on a purple-and-gold LSU cap before a roaring crowd on Wednesday afternoon, Kristian Fulton wrapped up the Tigers’ national signing day in style.

The No. 27 overall prospect on the ESPN 300 was the highest-rated uncommitted player in Louisiana, and his signature will extend LSU’s dominance within the state’s borders this year. The state produced 21 ESPN 300 honorees -- the most ever for the Pelican State and the fifth most of any state in this class -- and LSU signed 14 of them.

Les Miles’ program signed five of the top six prospects in Louisiana (No. 12 overall prospect Rashard Lawrence, No. 16 Willie Allen, Fulton, No. 51 Michael Divinity and No. 74 Edwin Alexander) and 10 of the top 13.

Overall, 19 of LSU’s 23 signees are ESPN 300 players, tying two Alabama classes for the most in a single class. LSU could add more prospects to the class within the next week as three-star LSU targets Da'Monte Coxie and Sci Martin are not expected to sign on Wednesday.
