Aubrey Solomon, the No. 63 prospect in the country, has committed to Michigan. Solomon gives Michigan 17 ESPN 300 prospects. He is the second-highest-ranked defensive tackle Michigan has landed since 2006.

Solomon had been committed to the Wolverines but decommitted in August. Solomon said despite his decommitment he still held Michigan in very high regard.

“I decommitted from Michigan because my mom didn’t have any say in it,” Solomon said. “I wanted my mom’s input, so I wanted to back off and let her take a look. I liked what I saw at other schools, but my heart was always at Michigan, and it always will be.”

One of those other schools Solomon looked into was Georgia. Solomon hails from Leesburg, Georgia. Michigan and Georgia have battled quite a few times on the recruiting trail this season.

The biggest battle was for No. 2-ranked Isaiah Wilson, who had Michigan as his leader at one point in his recruitment but ended up committing to Georgia. Michigan linebackers coach Chris Partridge made Solomon a point of emphasis because of the team's need along the defensive line and because of how big of a prospect Solomon is.

The effort for Michigan was worth it, and the Wolverines beat out Georgia for one of the top prospects in the Peach State.
