Real Madrid star Gareth Bale: I don't really watch much football

Gareth Bale rubber-stamped his return to the Real Madrid fold with two goals in a 7-1 trouncing of Deportivo la Coruna on Sunday evening.

Having struggled with injuries and dipping form in recent months, the Welshman eventually left the field to a hearty ovation from the Bernabeu crowd.

Facing the press after the match, thoughts almost immediately turned to Real's upcoming Champions League quarterfinal clash with PSG next month.

However, when asked about the ominous form of Neymar, Edinson Cavani and Kylian Mbappe heading into the big match, Bale admitted he's not really taken much notice of developments over in Paris.

"I don't really watch much football, I'd rather watch the golf to be honest," he told ESPN FC's Dermot Corrigan in the mixed zone after the Deportivo game.

Ignorance is bliss, especially when your team remain a full 19 points behind table-toppers Barcelona in the league.
