Colorado Rapids sign Nana Adjei-Boateng from Manchester City

The Colorado Rapids completed the signing of midfielder Bismark "Nana" Adjei-Boateng from Manchester City on Tuesday.

Terms of the transfer were not disclosed, though the Rapids used targeted allocation money in the deal.

"Bringing Nana to the club was a key part of our offseason strategy and we're delighted to welcome such a promising young talent to our club," Rapids director Padraig Smith said in a statement.

"He's a powerful player with the drive and energy to be effective box to box. He possesses great technique and vision and influences the game on both sides of the ball.

"We're confident Bismark will make a smooth transition to MLS as he heads into the prime of his career."

Adjei-Boateng, 22, signed his first professional contract with Man City in 2012 but has never played for their first team.

He has gone on a series of loans to Norwegian club Stromsgodset, scoring 18 goals in 101 appearances in all competitions.

Adjei-Boateng was the second Ghanaian player from Stromsgodset to move to MLS on Tuesday, after Mohammed Abu signed for Columbus.
