United States international midfielder Luis Gil has completed his loan to Orlando City from Mexico's Queretaro, the MLS club announced on Thursday.
Orlando had to pay Real Salt Lake $100,000 in targeted allocation money for the 23-year-old's MLS rights, to be delivered in 2018.
The deal includes an option for Orlando to purchase Gil from Queretaro outright at the end of the season, but if he does not sign with the Lions past this year, RSL will pay Orlando $50,000 in TAM and get back the player's MLS rights.

The move sees Gil reunited with Orlando manager Jason Kreis, who coached Gil at Real Salt Lake when the club signed the midfielder as a 16-year-old in 2010.
"Luis offers us another attacking threat and will fit in nicely with our squad," Orlando City general manager Niki Budalic said in a statement. "[Kreis] spoke very highly of Luis from his time at Real Salt Lake and we're excited for him to join the team."
Gil spent six seasons with RSL, scoring 11 goals and adding nine assists in 158 league, cup and playoff appearances. Following the 2015 campaign, he moved to Queretaro, but found playing time difficult to come by, failing to score in 14 league and cup appearances.
The California native has made two appearances for the U.S. national team after previously representing the U.S. at youth level. He played in the 2009 Under-17 World Cup, scored in the 2013 Under-20 World Cup and was a key part of the under-23 team that just missed qualifying for the Olympics last year.
