TOP STORY: Arsenal to snap up Suarez?
It's no secret that Arsenal are looking for a new midfielder in the coming months after the club decided not to offer Aaron Ramsey a new contract. With the Welshman set to depart in the summer for free, the Gunners might be tempted to cash in during the January transfer window and the Independent claims that Barcelona's Denis Suarez is top of the list.
Suarez, 24, is sick of being known as 'the second Suarez' at Camp Nou, but even sicker of not actually playing any games.
Whether that would change at the Emirates is up for debate, but the Spain international would certainly cost a lot less than some of the other options around at a reported £14m.

22.30 GMT: Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has already stated that any movement on the transfer front for the club next month is dubious, but adjust your gaze to something a bit longer term and Liverpool may be big players in the future. According to the Belfast Telegraph, the Reds will have THREE top-level midfielders in their sights, those three being Borussia Monchengladbach's Thorgan Hazard, Borussia Dortmund's Christian Pulisic and Brighton's Pascal Gross.
Maybe the club's eyes are too big for their stomach, or maybe Klopp really has a master plan to make the Reds even better than they already are.
21.42 GMT: Manchester United really can't catch a break with news of their players wanting to leave the club, if The Mirror are to be believed. According to the British publication, Red Devils' midfielder Andreas Pereira has turned down a three-year extension, saying that he's looking for regular playing time at this point in his career.
So in steps Manuel Pelligrini's West Ham United, who want to take the Belgian-born Brazilian international on loan.
20.23 GMT: Our next piece of news concerns Rangers and Southampton's Steven Davis. According to The Mirror, there's mutual interest in bringing back Rangers' former charge, who's been virtually frozen out of Southampton's starting lineup, only starting two matches this season. After spending four successful seasons in Glasgow from 2008 to 2012, Davis might be returning to the Ibrox next month.
20.03 GMT: News out of Old Trafford, courtesy of Evening Standard, centre-back Chris Smalling has extended his contract with Manchester United until 2022 with an option to extend the deal another year. For a team with a lot of uncertainty, Smalling has been been the one constant on the back line for the past nine years, and with this news, it looks like he'll be staying for a few years longer.
18.58 GMT: Speaking of reunions, talkSport is reporting that Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri is keen to bring his former charge from Napoli, Belgian striker Dries Mertens, to Stamford Bridge. This comes following news that Olivier Giroud and Alvaro Morata are trying to leave the London-based club, so a reunion might be exactly what Chelsea requires.
17.50 GMT: Now some news from Elland Road: Leeds United are "closely following" Alaves' Ibai Gomez in the hopes of bringing him over in a £9m deal in January, according to the Daily Star. The team's interest in Gomez is understandable seeing as Gomez was manager Marcelo Bielsa's free-kick specialist at Athletic Bilbao.
16.38 GMT: The Express reports that Chelsea are confident of signing Bournemouth striker and England international Callum Wilson in a £30m in January.
15.22 GMT: With Samuel Umtiti's immediate future uncertain as the 25-year-old recovers from a knee injury, Barcelona have opened negotiations with Chelsea over a six-month loan deal for centre-back Andreas Christensen, Catalan outlet Sport reports.
14.06 GMT: Juventus continue to be linked with a move to bring Paul Pogba back to Turin, and the Mirror cites Italian transfer guru Gianluca Di Marzio as reporting that Manchester United are open to letting their star midfielder leave ... so long as the Bianconeri send Miralem Pjanic to Old Trafford in exchange.
12.50 GMT: We do so dislike it when players kill of transfer speculation. But that's exactly what Sweden and Helsinborgs star Andreas Granqvist has done about a move to Manchester United.
Granqvist told Fotboll Direkt: "With 99.9 percent certainty, we can kill the speculation here and now. It would be quite sensational, but I don't think it will happen. Then I do not know if I want to. It's with Helsinborgs I want to be."

11.59 GMT: Tottenham's out of favour striker Vincent Janssen is still unclear on his future at the north London club.
"We don't know what will happen. His focus is first to get 100 percent fit and then we will see what happens," his agent Louis Laros told ESPN. "There's not much more to do right now, he wants to be fit and play but we will see."
11.31 GMT: Honestly, you're not really cool unless you've signed a player from Manchester City for a handful of notes and converted him into a superstar. Dortmund are cool, and now other Bundesliga clubs are trying to follow the lead they took with Jadon Sancho.
The 18-year-old Wales winger Rabbi Matondo is the next player on the hit list of some major clubs. Dortmund are already looking for 'the next Sancho' while Borussia Monchengladbach, Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig have joined the party according to the Sun.
10.44 GMT: Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola missed out on Jorginho, who chose to move to Chelsea, so he's gone back to Napoli for Allan instead, say Calcio Napoli 24.
City have "set their sights" on the 27-year-old midfielder, but Bayern Munich and Monaco are also keen. The Brazil international did sign a new deal in March, however, so he may not come cheap.
09.58 GMT: Inter might have to make some room for all their big plans and Tuttosport claim that Manchester United are facing competition from Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid for winger Ivan Perisic.
Perisic has long claimed that he would love to move to England, so United have the edge. But someone needs to stump up £50m first.
09.35 GMT: The North London rivalry is hot at the best of times, but now the two clubs are set to go head-to-head for Hoffenheim midfielder Florian Grillitsch, say Bild.
The 23-year-old Austria international is a defensive midfielder and the paper insists that hia agent Thomas Bohm travelled to England last week to speak to both clubs.
09.00 GMT: Former Juventus chief Beppe Marotta has joined Inter Milan and now they have big plans for the future. Luka Modric and Antonio Conte are two names featuring high on the Inter list as the club bid to stop the Juve domination of Serie A.

Away from the Bridge
Bournemouth and West Ham are looking to make a move for Ruben Loftus-Cheek, according to The Sun. Both clubs will make bids in January to bring Loftus-Cheek in on loan before making the move permanent in the summer.
The 22-year-old has appeared sporadically under Maurizio Sarri, scoring three goals in both the Premier League and Europa League so far, but hasn't seen the regular time that he got on loan at Crystal Palace last season.
Sarri said a few weeks back that he wanted to keep the England international at Stamford Bridge, but renewed pursuit from Premier League rivals could lead to a winter move away.
Davies tied to Goodison
Tom Davies won't be leaving Everton on loan in January, said manager Marco Silva in the Guardian.
The 20-year-old midfielder has played fewer than 500 minutes of Premier League football this season, after being bumped to the bench by Andre Gomes.
Davies' emergence was one of the bright points of a couple of frustrating seasons under Ronald Koeman and Sam Allardyce, but he has seen precious little game time since Gomes' arrival on loan from Barcelona.
No transfers for Tottenham
It's better to keep the powder dry and money in the bank, rather than spending on something that isn't quite right. That's Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino's opinion anyway.
After Danny Rose said earlier in the week that he wasn't sure if any reinforcements would be arriving in January, Pochettino has seemed to reinforce this message. No signings is not always a bad thing, and it can be better for team spirit not to sign the wrong player.
Spurs fans, aching from no new signings in the summer and seeing the injury problems the squad has had -- with both Serge Aurier and Kieran Trippier out injured -- may not be totally appeased by their manager's message, though.
However, Pochettino has stressed his faith in academy graduate Kyle Walker-Peters, who has started only one match this season but signed a new contract on Monday which will run until 2023.
"I think Kyle Walker-Peters has the option to play," Pochettino told a news conference in Barcelona. "I want to remind you that 18 months ago he won the Under-20 World Cup in Korea, and the quality is unbelievable."
Is Rangers journey over for Ovie?
Steven Gerrard won't block an early return to Liverpool for Ovie Ejaria, who's on loan at Rangers, so the Daily Mail reports.
The 21-year-old midfielder has been a fairly familiar face at the Scottish club with regular appearances, but his form has dipped of late.
In a turn of events that's raised eyebrows and helped spark rumours, Ejaria has deleted his Twitter account and removed all traces of his time at Rangers from Instagram.
Foxes chasing Jardim
Leicester are carrying a torch for former Monaco manager Leonardo Jardim, according to French outlet Le 10 Sport.
The Foxes have been keeping an eye on Jardim for a few weeks, with current manager Claude Puel's position looking shaky.
Results have since improved, but Leicester are still considering Jardim -- possibly for the longer term, or end of the season at least, rather than an immediate replacement.
For Jardim's part, he'd like to manage in the Premier League, and was recently one of the names in the frame for the vacant Southampton job after Mark Hughes was sacked.

Neil Warnock has confirmed that Cardiff are one of the teams on the list of potential Clyne suitors. The right-back has slipped behind Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joe Gomez and seemingly James Milner in the pecking order at Liverpool, and Warnock admitted in his news conference on Friday that Clyne is one of the players Cardiff are looking to sign in January.
Kalidou Koulibaly to United -- 2.9
Manchester United may break the defensive transfer record to bring in Koulibaly, according to the Evening Standard. Jose Mourinho has long wanted a new central defender, although a deal for the Napoli centre-back could set the Red Devils back £100 million. Possibly because of this price tag, Mourinho has also identified three non-Koulibaly options, according to the Manchester Evening News.
Gary Cahill to Arsenal -- 2.5
In other central defensive news, Cahill -- not in contention at Chelsea -- could be on his way across London to the Gunners, as ESPN has reported. With Rob Holding out and other Arsenal centre-backs having struggled with injuries, Cahill could be a short-term option, according to Unai Emery.
Alvaro Morata to Barcelona -- 2.1
Rumours of a move for Morata to the Catalan club were strengthened by comments from Barca full-back Jordi Alba, reported by Spanish outlet AS. The left-back said that Morata would be welcome at the La Liga side, who are currently leading the league. It would be a welcome change of scenery for the Spaniard, whose time at Chelsea hasn't always been happy.
Ben Chilwell to Manchester City -- 1.4
Rumours have emerged that the Premier League holders could make a £50m move for the Leicester left-back, according to the Mirror. The 21-year-old recently signed a £110,000-a-week contract that lasts until 2024, but has broken into the Foxes first team and has impressed this season. However, Pep Guardiola said in his prematch news conference on Friday that City won't make any moves in January.
