Kevin Fortune equalized the game for Martinque in the 53rd minute with a header into the box from Stephane Abaul. It was the 1,000th goal scored in Gold Cup history.

Martinique's Sebastien Cretinoir was sent off with a red card minutes later, reducing Les Matinino to 10 men with a half-hour to play. Ade then gave Les Grenadiers the game-winner with a free kick off Cretinoir's foul.
