Sublime Delhi move top after 2-0 win

Delhi Dynamos broke their winless streak at home as they notched up a comfortable 2-0 win over Kerala Blasters to move to the top of the standings in the Indian Super League (ISL).

Brazilian striker Marcelinho had the first chance to open the account for Delhi when a quick throw-in on the right was flicked on by Richard Gadze to his side. He lost little time in smashing the ball which, however, ended up hitting the side netting.

Gadze had a chance to score two minutes later, but eventually failed to keep his attempt on target.

Kerala's best chance of the half came later in the game when Kervens Belfort sent a cross from the left for Didier Kadio in the 42nd minute but his header missed the target narrowly.

Delhi turned the match to their side in the second half after Kean Francis Lewis scored the opening goal in the 56th minute off a Richard Gadze assist.

Four minutes later, Marcelinho doubled the lead when he found the back of the net off marquee-signing Florent Malouda's pass. This was his fifth goal in the current edition of the league, and he now tops the scoring chart with NorthEast United FC's forward Emiliano Alfaro.

The loss was Kerala's first in six matches after losing two matches in a row at the beginning of the league.
