Saina Nehwal beat PV Sindhu 21-18, 21-15 in the women's final of the 83rd senior national badminton championships, claiming her second successive and fourth overall (2006, 2007, 2018, 2019) Nationals title. PV Sindhu had won it in 2011 and 2013.
Sindhu had beaten 19-year-old Assamese talent Ashmita Chaliha 21-10, 22-20 in her semifinal, while Saina beat Nagpur's Vaishnavi Bhale 21-15, 21-14 in the other semi.
