Lamar Odom to play for Philippine team in Dubai tournament

Lamar Odom is making a basketball comeback. The former NBA player on Instagram said he is a member of the Philippine team handled by Charles Tiu that will compete in the upcoming Dubai International Tournament February 1 to 9.

"I'd like to announce that I will be playing in The Dubai International Championship this February 1st 2019!" Odom said in his post.

A winner of two championships with the Lakers, Odom last played in NBA in 2013 with the Clippers, the same team that drafted him in 1999. He also said he is eager to play for Mighty Sports because it will serve as a "warmup" for the Big3 Basketball League.

"It's been a minute since I've professionally competed and I hope to be as explosive as I used to be," said Odom.

Odom will join the team in January according to Filipino sports agent Sheryl Reyes' Twitter post.

Last year, the San Beda Red Lions, led by incoming PBA rookie Robert Bolick, represented the Philippines in the tournament but failed to register a single win.
