Reliving Wake Forest's 3-0 win over Boston College because ...

Wake Forest and Boston College combined to score three points over the weekend. So how is it there is so much to say about a game that provided so little offense?

Because 3-0 games are an underappreciated treat, like watching a dissertation on the universe expanding at kilometers per second per megaparsec to infinity and beyond. (First time since the 2008 Sun Bowl!).

Because, almost predictably, two teams with no offense each fumbled the ball away in the final 1:03 (more turnovers than points scored!).

Because the win probability chart for the fourth quarter alone looks like a 3-year-old got behind the wheel and attempted to drive. (Wake Forest had a 94 percent chance to win before Matt Colburn fumbled with 56 seconds left. That number dropped to 7.8 percent before Boston College ran on first-and-goal from the 1 with 29 seconds left.)

Because clocking the ball with no time left can only be met with one rational reaction. NO! WHAT! STOP! OH THE HORROR! (for programs not named Rutgers).

Because Steve Addazio did this with his headset. (Definitely a 10 from Dancing With The Stars judges).

Because Wake Forest delivered two of the best screen grabs in ACC history (do NOT debate this with me):

Because Wake Forest has a better record under Dave Clawson without scoring a touchdown. (#collegekickers!)

Because Wake Forest won despite recording five first downs, the fewest by any FBS team in a win in at least the last 20 seasons. (#winning)

Because Wake Forest punter Alex Kinal set the ACC record for career punting yards with 12,383 total. (not all in the BC game!)

Because Boston College became the first team to lose back-to-back games while allowing nine points or fewer in each since 1989 -- when Boston College also did it. (Nobody knows offensive futility quite like BC!)

Because Boston College has the No. 1 defense in America yet has beaten only one FBS opponent in six games. (what were we saying about offensive futility ...)
