Hackenberg reaffirms commitment

Christian Hackenberg (Fork Union, Va./Fork Union) reaffirmed his commitment to Penn State following Saturday's season-opening loss to Hermitage.

"You know, that's the school I'm committed to," Hackenberg told ESPNU.

He added: "As a class and a combination of everything up there -- academics, Coach [Bill] O'Brien -- it still makes Penn State a great fit for me."

When asked what it would take for him to rethink his commitment, the quarterback said he might have to reconsider if the sanctions somehow grew worse. But, he said, he didn't expect that to occur.

Hackenberg is Penn State's top-rated prospect in the Class of 2013. He's ranked No. 1 at his position, No. 16 overall and is the most-heralded Nittany Lions' recruit since class of 2006 defensive end Maurice Evans, who was ranked No. 11 overall.
