Signing day has gone smoothly in Happy Valley.

Here's a recap of how the letters of intent came in and how the class came together in Penn State's Class of 2013.

2:34 p.m.: The last letter is in on a signing day that proceeded very smoothly for the Lions.

S Neiko Robinson (Bratt, Fla./Northview): He'll be one of just two Florida players on Penn State's roster this season. Still, he said he felt at home at PSU because he's used to living in the country and likes the fact he can fish around State College. Robinson Fact of the Day: He's eaten squirrel.

Noon: Josh is headed over to the national chat room to talk about the Nittany Lions' class. You can get some questions answered there, along with chat about some of the big national recruits who are signing today.

11:10 a.m.: Penn State confirms it has received Zayd Issah's letter.

ATH Zayd Issah (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin): He's the only Penn State recruit to commit, decommit -- and then recommit. He considered playing for Oregon but changed his mind after his official visit to PSU in early December.

9:42 a.m.: A sleeper from Alabama is in the fold.

DT Parker Cothren (Hazel Green, Ala./Hazel Green): Cothren's brother sent his film to Penn State in November, without Parker knowing. He was already committed to Purdue, but PSU contacted him four days later to offer a scholarship. He committed about a week after that and remained committed despite future attention from the likes of Auburn and Tennessee.

9:20 a.m.: A big one just went through the fax. The No. 1 quarterback is officially a Nittany Lion.

QB Christian Hackenberg (Fork Union, Va./Fork Union Military Academy): He's ESPN's No. 1 rated-signal caller and PSU's highest-rated recruit since DE Maurice Evans in 2006. He's also the the highest-profile quarterback to sign with a Big Ten school since Terrelle Pryor chose Ohio State.

8:37 a.m.: We've confirmed independently that Garrett Sickels' letter is sent. He was the first commitment at 7:03 a.m.

DE Garrett Sickels (Little Silver, N.J./Red Bank): He's this class's biggest name on defense, and he's the lone four-star prospect not on offense. Penn State's last defensive four-star recruit came in 2010 from several prospects, including defensive ends Dakota Royer and C.J. Olaniyan.

8:27 a.m.: This one came in to the athletic department about an hour ago, but we just got word.

DE Curtis Cothran (Newtown, Pa./Council Rock North): Playing at Beaver Stadium was a big draw for Cothran. His high school coach said some of his favorite memories of Cothran were when he stopped ball-carriers running at full speed with just one arm.

8:22 a.m.: The next letter has arrived from Virginia.

OG Tanner Hartman (Lynchburg, Va./Liberty Christian): He initially committed to Maryland because he was afraid he wouldn't get a spot if he waited too long. Once he received an offer from PSU, though, he said he basically knew right away that's where he was going. He plans to redshirt.

8:15 a.m.: Kasey Gaines is in.

S Kasey Gaines (Loganville, Ga./Grayson): PSU was his lone FBS offer, but he was also considering a scholarship to Harvard. The staff initially wanted him to enroll early, but he was unable to do so.

8:10 a.m.: We've confirmed No. 4.

OLB Brandon Bell (Mays Landing, N.J./Oakcrest): Bell is Linebacker U's highest-rated linebacker of this class, and his scouting report is pretty similar to 2011 LB Ben Kline. Bell didn't grow up as a big college football fan, but he said he found himself jumping off his couch and yelling at the TV this past season.

7:57 a.m.: Next letter is from Virginia.

WR DaeSean Hamilton (Stafford, Va./Mountain View): His commitment was among the most sudden and surprising because most had him pegged as a lean to one of the in-state schools. He committed on the final day of his official visit -- and even Hamilton admitted he didn't see that coming.

7:45 a.m.: Second is from New Jersey.

OG Brendan Mahon (Randolph, N.J./Randolph): He's the No. 12 offensive guard in the country and No. 215 in the ESPN 300. He's the highest-ranked Penn State guard since 2011, when Angelo Mangiro (No. 54 in ESPN 150) signed with PSU.

7:41 a.m.: And the faxes have begun.

OT Andrew Nelson (Hershey, Pa./Hershey): He grew up watching Penn State football and, when asked about his favorite memories on the recruiting trail, every answer to the seven-question interview involved Penn State. He's versatile enough that his high school coach often moved him around on the line to keep defenses guessing.

Already enrolled:

RB Richy Anderson (Frederick, Md./Governor Thomas Johnson): His father, Richie, played under Joe Paterno and also played in the NFL for 12 seasons as a fullback. Richy decommitted from Maryland and took the Nittany Lions' offer shortly after his official visit in October.

TE Adam Breneman (Camp Hill, Pa./Cedar Cliff): He's from the same high school as former PSU great Kyle Brady, and Breneman plans to follow in his footsteps by wearing his No. 81 jersey. He's coming off a torn ACL and is still holding out hope he might be cleared to play in time for the spring scrimmage.

QB Tyler Ferguson (Bakersfield, Calif./College of the Sequoias): After Jake Waters' surprise decision to go with Kansas State over PSU, the Nittany Lions turned to their Plan B quarterback in Ferguson. On the same day he committed to Houston, Ferguson decommitted -- and will now compete for the starting QB job at Penn State.

CB Anthony Smith (Randolph, N.J./Valley Forge): His ability to enroll early was tantamount to his scholarship offer. He didn't speak with another FBS program and was offered about four weeks before class started. "I wouldn't have believed it," Smith said, if he were told several months ago he'd be a Nittany Lion.

CB Jordan Smith (Washington/Howard D. Woodson): Smith was the first player to commit after the sanctions were announced. He's known for this work ethic -- during fits of insomnia, he'll do a thousand-or-so push-ups, sometimes until his alarm clock goes off.
