One big injury for Packers to worry about for Week 1: Bryan Bulaga

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- The first official injury report comes out Wednesday, but it's not necessary to wait that long to know that there's still concern about Bryan Bulaga's status for Week 1.

The veteran right tackle was nowhere to be seen on the field Monday when the Green Bay Packers held what coach Mike McCarthy called "a bonus" practice.

Bulaga, who sprained his right ankle in practice on Aug. 23, has not been on the field since his injury, although the day after it happened he spoke optimistically about his availability for the opener against the Seattle Seahawks.

If Bulaga can't play, the Packers almost certainly would start second-year pro Kyle Murphy at right tackle. Murphy, a sixth-round pick last year, has outperformed 2016 second-round pick Jason Spriggs.

The Packers kept 10 offensive linemen on their initial 53-man roster but then placed backup center Don Barclay (ankle) on injured reserve on Sunday. Typically, the Packers only have seven linemen on their 46-man game-day active roster.

Here's a look at the other players who are coming off training camp/preseason injuries:

Kevin King: The Packers' top draft pick was a surprise scratch from the preseason finale because a groin injury that apparently flared up in the final training camp practice. In early August, he also battled a shoulder injury. There's a chance they ease King into things by playing him in only the sub packages rather than throwing the rookie out there full time.

Ha Ha Clinton-Dix: The Pro Bowl safety put it this way last week when asked if the knee injury that kept him out of the last two preseason games would jeopardize his status for the opener: "I wouldn't be here talking to you right now if I thought it would."

Davon House: The veteran cornerback's only preseason game action was three snaps in last Thursday's finale. He missed the majority of camp because of a hamstring injury. Still, it was a good sign that his brief stint last week didn't prevent him from practicing on Monday.

Clay Matthews: He dropped out of the third preseason game at Denver because of tightness in his groin and didn't practice the rest of training camp. He would not have played in the preseason finale anyway. He did not appear to have any limitations during Monday's workout but given Matthews' history with muscle injuries -- mostly hamstrings -- there's reason to keep an eye on him the rest of the week.

Nick Perry: Like Matthews, Perry was hurt against the Broncos, and Monday was his first time back on the field since he injured his right ankle. Perry's long injury history -- he's never made it through a season without missing at least one game -- made the five-year, $60 million contract he signed this offseason a risk. That Perry likely will be on the Week 1 injury report isn't a great start.

Montravius Adams: Monday's practice was his first action since July 28 and although he appeared to be limited while recovering from foot surgery, there's a chance that he could play at some point during the first month of the season. At one point, it looked like the third-round pick might be a candidate for short-term injured reserve. Although that still could happen, signs point to Adams sticking on the roster for now.

Kentrell Brice: The backup safety left the preseason finale with a left shoulder injury while playing on special teams but was back on the practice field Monday with no apparent limitations.

Lucas Patrick: The backup guard/center cleared the concussion protocol and practiced for the first time since he left the game at Denver with a head injury. With Barclay on injured reserve, Patrick and Justin McCray are the only two backups at the interior line positions.

Vince Biegel: The fourth-round pick is on the physically unable to perform list because he's still recovering from May foot surgery. He will be evaluated in six weeks, when PUP rules allow for him to start practicing. His inability to be ready for the season was one of the reasons the Packers sought outside linebacker help in Ahmad Brooks and Chris Odom.

Demetri Goodson: The backup cornerback is in the same category (PUP) as Biegel after his late-season knee injury last year.
