Dallas SPARQ All-Combine Team

Dallas -- Over 1,00 athletes gathered at what is the nation’s best high school football stadium at Allen (Texas) High School. It was a day dominated by North Little Rock (Ark.) players, with 14 players going over 100 on the SPARQ Rating. Here is a look at the 24 standout performers who make up the Dallas SPARQ All-Combine Team.

Note: Selections are based upon combine performance as well as past and projected on-field performance. Athletes must have completed two of the four combine tests to be eligible for selection. Athletes are in the Class of 2014 unless otherwise noted.

OFFENSE

QB: Jacob Lewis, 6-foot-1, 208 pounds, Oklahoma City (Okla.) Bishop McGuinness

Results: 4.58 40-yard dash, 4.22 shuttle, 41.0’ power ball throw, 34.4” vertical jump, 120.81 SPARQ Rating

Breakdown: Earned numerous postseason offers after a big junior season in which he threw for 2,437 yards and 28 touchdowns.

QB: Payton Holmes, 5-10 ½, 190, Little Rock (Ark.) North Little Rock

Results: 4.60 40, 4.09 SH, 38.0’ PB, 34.2” VJ, 111.33 SPARQ

Breakdown: In a run-dominated offense, he threw for 1,000 yards and seven touchdowns last season.

RB: Fabian Lewis (2015), 5-6 ½, 157, Little Rock (Ark.) North Little Rock

Results: 4.45 40, 3.87 shuttle, 33.0’ PB, 36.0” VJ, 114.66

Breakdown: Had the day's fastest shuttle; now will look to show quickness on-field this coming season.

RB: Antonio Franklin, 5-8 ½, 160, Euless (Texas) High

Results: 4.38 40, 4.37 shuttle, 35.5’ PB, 39.0” VJ, 107.76 SPARQ

Breakdown: In limited action last year, the speedy back rushed for 469 yards and nine touchdowns.

RB: Juan Day, 6-1 ½, 206, Little Rock (Ark.) North Little Rock

Results: 4.72 40, 4.53 shuttle, 43.0’ PB, 35.7” VJ, 107.55 SPARQ

Breakdown: Power back with speed is committed to the Arkansas Razorbacks.

WR: K.J. Hill, 5-11 ½, 178, Little Rock (Ark.) North Little Rock

Results: 4.66 40, 4.00 shuttle, 39.0’ PB, 35.6” VJ, 115.14 SPARQ

Breakdown: Very productive junior season with over 1,000 all-purpose yards.

WR: Ian Killian, 5-10 ½, 182, Snellville (Ga.) South Gwinett

Results: 4.63 40, 4.26 shuttle, 37.0’ PB, 38.9” VJ, 107.46 SPARQ

Breakdown: Raised his rating over 20 points just a month after attending the Atlanta combine in early March.

TE: Joshua Woodward, 6-3, 197, Huntsville (Texas) High

Results: 4.70 40, 4.61 shuttle, 44.0’ PB, 40.7” VJ, 114.48

Breakdown: Also has been putting in the work, raising his rating nearly 25 points since an earlier combine.

OL: Curtis Parker, 6-1.5, 276, Little Rock (Ark.) North Little Rock

Results: 4.94 40, 4.60 shuttle, 53' PB, 26.0" VJ, 98.10 SPARQ

Breakdown: Parker threw the power ball so far, the SPARQ system wouldn't accept it. Needless to say, Parker's power ball toss set a new standard as the longest ever recorded.

OL: Jacob Bragg, 6-3.5, 310, Nacogdoches (Texas) High

Results: 5.42 40, 4.83 shuttle, 41.5' PB, 27.7" VJ, 97.71 SPARQ

Breakdown: The Nike SPARQ Combine was the first step in a big weekend for Bragg. After showing his athleticism at the NFSC, Bragg showed he could play a little football on Sunday, taking home Dallas NFTC OL MVP honors.

OL: Keaton Sutherland (2015), 6-3, 257, Flower Mound (Texas) Marcus

Results: 5.13 40, 4.66 shuttle, 44.0' PB, 28.4" VJ, 92.22 SPARQ

Breakdown: Big-time performance earned him an invite to the next day's NFTC.

OL: Spencer Hendee, 6-3, 277, Round Rock (Texas) High

Results: 5.32 40, 4.92 shuttle, 44' PB, 26.0" VJ, 85.23 SPARQ

Breakdown: Strong and athletic, Hendee was a breakout performer at the Dallas SPARQ Combine.

OL: Myles Massei, 6-1.5, 286, Allen (Texas) High

Results: 5.43 40, 4.56 shuttle, 38' PB, 23.0" VJ, 77.55 SPARQ

Breakdown: The Allen lineman represented on his home field, with an exceptional time for an offensive lineman in the 20-yard shuttle.

ATH: Kendrick Igbinoba, 6-1 ½, 221, Richardson (Texas) High

Results: 4.66 40, 4.35 shuttle, 37.0’ PB, 35.3” VJ, 106.80 SPARQ

Breakdown: Versatile player who will step in and play quarterback for his senior season after a productive junior season running the ball.

DEFENSE

DL: Michael Epley, 6-2.5, 242, Leander (Texas) High

Results: 4.85 40, 4.18 shuttle, 40.0' PB, 32.4" VJ, 112.08 SPARQ

Breakdown: Ran the fastest shuttle for a defensive lineman on the day, leading to the top DL SPARQ Rating in Dallas.

DL: Kendall Donnerson, 6-3, 203, Maumelle (Texas) High

Results: 4.55 40, 4.66 shuttle, 37.5' PB, 31.9" VJ, 92.82 SPARQ

Breakdown: Donnerson will need to bulk up to stay on the D-line, but you can't teach 4.55 speed.

DL: Tyler Phillips (2015), 6-1, 206, Little Rock (Ark.) North Little Rock

Results: 4.84 40, 4.55 shuttle, 43.0' PB, 36.5" VJ, 104.43 SPARQ

Breakdown: The rising junior had the longest power ball toss and second-highest highest vertical jump for a defensive lineman on the day.

DL: Greg Roberts, 6-5, 197, Nacogdoches (Texas) High

Results: 4.86 40, 4.47 shuttle, 35' PB, 31.3" VJ, 79.56 SPARQ

Breakdown: Showed the kind of speed and length that attracted an early offer from Baylor.

LB: Brian Ciszewski, 5-11, 188, Flower Mound (Texas) Marcus

Results: 4.58 40, 4.12 shuttle, 35.0’ PB, 38.2” VJ, 109.62 SPARQ

Breakdown: Will look to bounce back for his senior season after missing most of last year with an injury.

LB: Justice Ausitn (2015), 6-0 ½, 227, Little Rock (Ark.) North Little Rock

Results: 4.76 40, 4.37 shuttle, 43.0’ PB, 33.5” VJ, 112.56 SPARQ

Breakdown: Has two years ahead to show his testing numbers translate to playmaking ability on the field.

LB: Tim Quickel, 6-0 ½, 192, Little Rock (Ark.) North Little Rock

Results: 4.64 40, 4.12 shuttle, 37.0’ PB, 35.1” VJ, 108.27 SPARQ

Breakdown: Started 11 games this past season as a sophomore, recording 40 tackles.

DB: Kavin Alexander, 5-8.5, 182, Little Rock (Ark.) North Little Rock

Results: 4.36 40, 3.90 shuttle, 42.5’ PB, 40.5” VJ, 148.17 SPARQ

Breakdown: Earned an invite to The Opening with the second-highest SPARQ Rating ever posted.

DB: Kavika Fonua, 5-11, 200, Syracuse (Utah) High

Results: 4.48 40, 4.19 shuttle, 39.0’ PB, 38.5” VJ, 123.30 SPARQ

Breakdown: Selected to the Salt Lake City Tribune all-state team.

DB: Dequan Thomas, 5-8.5, 177, Little Rock (Ark.) North Little Rock

Results: 4.56 40, 4.11 shuttle, 38.0’ PB, 38.4” VJ, 116.16 SPARQ

Breakdown: Undersized cover corner has the speed and strength to stay with any receiver.
