The Alabama Crimson Tide picked up commitment No. 12 on Monday evening from ESPN 300 inside linebacker Jaquan Yulee of Cheasapeake (Va.) during a ceremony held at his school.
The No. 8-ranked inside linebacker and the 193rd-ranked player overall in the ESPN 300 chose Alabama over other offers from Virginia Tech, Florida State, Michigan State and North Carolina.
Alabama has done a remarkable job of recruiting in the last week. Over the last seven days, the Tide have been able to land six total commitments including three recruits from the 2016 class and three from the 2017 class.
In addition to Yulee, the other 2016 recent commits include four-star quarterback Jalen Hurts, who committed to Alabama this past Friday and junior college offensive tackle Charles Baldwin, who also gave his pledge last Friday.
Of Alabama's 12 total commits, five are ranked in the ESPN 300. The Crimson Tide currently sit at No. 9 in the Recruiting Nation class rankings. Yulee is the first linebacker committed to Alabama in this recruiting class.
Another top inside linebacker, Erroll Thompson, an Alabama native and No. 112 in the ESPN 300, sent out a congratulatory tweet to Yulee and may have given a hint as to where Thompson was also leaning.

Despite his commitment, Yulee did not completely shut down his recruitment. There is a chance Yulee could still take official visits during the season.
