Here’s a quick look at the linebackers for the Seattle Seahawks heading into training camp. The team has 10 players listed at the linebacker spots entering camp, but the Seahawks also have looked at defensive end Cassius Marsh at an outside linebacker spot:

Locks: Bobby Wagner, K.J. Wright, Bruce Irvin, Kevin Pierre-Louis.

Wagner earned his first All-Pro selection last season and is as good as it gets in the middle. Wright is an outstanding coverage guy as the Will linebacker and Irvin is coming off his best season as the Sam linebacker. Irvin also is highly motivated since the Seahawks didn’t pick up his fifth-year option. Pierre-Louis, a rookie last season, is lightning fast and loaded with talent, but he has to prove he can stay healthy.

Likely: Mike Morgan and Brock Coyle.

Morgan is entering his fifth season and is a reliable backup and excellent special-teams player. The only way he doesn’t make it is if the coaches feel one of the rookies can give them the same things for less money. Coyle was one of the rookie surprises last season in making the team as a backup middle linebacker and quality special-teams contributor. But the Seahawks also know Wright can play in the middle if need be.

Bubble: Eric Pinkins.

The 2014 rookie was a safety in college who the Seahawks wanted to convert to another big cornerback. That wasn’t working out before Pinkins suffered a foot injury and missed the entire season. Now the coaches want to see if he can handle an outside linebacker spot. At 6-foot-3, 230 pounds, he is strong and quick. The coaches liked what they saw in OTAs. He’ll get a lot of reps in camp and preseason games, but the coaches also are seeing if Marsh can handle an outside linebacker spot.

Long shots: Quayshawn Nealy, Alex Singleton, Tyrell Adams.

All three are undrafted rookies with a lot to prove to earn a roster spot. Nealy (6-0, 235 from Georgia Tech) has taken some reps inside and may have the best shot. Singleton and Adams have to really stand out, but the same was true for Coyle last year.
