The NCAA transfer portal has certainly created some chaos since being implemented, but it also has provided college football players with more opportunities to further their careers.
Decisions for transferring are varied, but the majority are football related: playing time, staff turnover and schemes. Name, image and likeness (NIL) opportunities, as well as the extra year of eligibility due to the COVID-19 pandemic, also have led to the avalanche of portal seekers.
Quarterbacks Bo Nix (Auburn to Oregon) and Michael Penix Jr. (Indiana to Washington) were among last year's transfers to enter the portal, receive a fresh start and make the most of their college experience.
More than 2,500 players have entered the portal since the window opened on Dec. 5. We picked 10 still in the portal who are seeking a path to find the right fit this time around.

1. Spencer Sanders, QB
Transferring from: Oklahoma State
Sanders was a top-10 QB and the 121st ranked player in the 2018 ESPN 300 coming out of Billy Ryan High School (Texas). He played all four years for the Cowboys in a passing system that coach Mike Gundy implemented from the Mike Leach-popularized Air Raid offense.
Even with an injury-plagued senior season, Sanders still finished his career in Stillwater as a top-three passer in yards, completions and touchdown passes in program history. The 2021 All-Big 12 selection is first among Oklahoma State quarterbacks in career rushing yards.
