West Indies produced an inspired defense of a target of 149 to secure a 38-run win over England, leveling the five-match series 1-1 on Monday in Jamaica.

The hosts emulated England's effort in the first ODI in another low-scoring thriller as captain Stafanie Taylor top-scored with 56 before she was the seventh wicket to fall, caught by Laura Marsh off Katherine Brunt in the 43rd over. Brunt had struck in her previous over as well to claim Stacy-Ann King stumped by Amy Jones standing up to Brunt's medium pace as she ended with figures of 2 for 30 in nine overs.

Alex Hartley bookended Brunt's scalps with 4 for 31 in 10 overs as the left-arm spinner ripped through the West Indies middle order. Anisa Mohammed was the last wicket in that sequence, caught by Tammy Beaumont to make it 129 for 8 in the 44th but Afy Fletcher made a crucial 14 before being run out off the final ball of the innings by Brunt to ensure West Indies batted through their overs.

Fletcher then played an even bigger role with the ball to spark an incredible collapse by England, falling from 93 for 3 in the 35th to be all out seven overs over having added just 17 more runs. Fletcher had England captain Heather Knight caught for 26 to break a key 37-run stand with Nat Sciver, then accounted for Sciver two overs later, caught by Hayley Mathews for 27 to make it 107 for 5. Danni Wyatt, who was Player of the Match in the first ODI after top-scoring with 44, was trapped leg before for 7 by Fletcher in the 39th as the wheels started to fall off England's chase.

After Fletcher burrowed through England's middle order, Deandra Dottin wiped out the tail, taking the last four wickets for just one run. The allrounder bowled a triple-wicket maiden in the 40th to leave England shellshocked. Brunt was out leg before off the first ball of the over, Marsh bowled and Sophie Ecclestone caught behind off the last two balls to put Dottin on a hat-trick and West Indies a wicket away from victory. Four balls into the 42nd, Dottin won her second lbw decision, Jones this time, to end the game.

The two sides now shift to Sabina Park for the final three ODIs in the series which will count towards the ICC Women's Championship standings.
