Scorer: Ranjith P | Commentator: Alex Malcolm

The Hurricanes win by six wickets with eight balls to spare. That was a pretty comprehensive performance by the home side. They start the season 2-0 while the Stars slump to 0-2. It was built off the back of an excellent bowling display. Jofra Archer and D'Arcy Short took five wickets between them and conceded just 48 runs in eight overs. Nick Larkin and Glenn Maxwell played well but couldn't convert their starts. The chase of 156 was well controlled by Matthew Wade. He got good support from Short and Ben McDermott before George Bailey finished the job. Sandeep Lamichhane was the shining star with the ball claiming three wickets but he didn't get much support. D'Arcy Short is the Player of the Match for his all-round performance with 2-23 and 34 runs from 22 balls. That concludes the first game of the Christmas Eve BBL double header. Coming up next is the Sydney Thunder and Sydney Sixers from Spotless Stadium in Sydney. Thanks for your company here in Hobart.

Bravo to Bailey, FOUR, dropped at long off for four! Larkin again! He dropped two in Canberra! He launched this down to long off, but didn't get it, Larkin running to his right on the rope, it bursts through his hands above his shoulders and falls behind him and bounces over the rope!

Crowd is just over 9000 at Bellerive
