Once again, the ball deviates away after pitching just short of length on middle, Mendis is committed into a defensive stroke, except he can't account for the movement and is squared up completely as the ball takes the edge through to Nevill. He spontaneously looked back as well, and that was a dead giveaway for the umpire too. A threatening stand has been broken, and the decision to persist with Starc has paid off. 184/4

Point of impact is in line, and so Herath has a hat-trick. Hawkeye shows the ball hitting top of middle. He's the second Sri Lankan after Nuwan Zoysa to take a Test hat-trick. What drama in Galle. They took a long time to go upstairs, but Herath has been proved right. 80/7

The ball went with the arm to cramp him for room and smash into the middle stump as Perera was simply left attempting a nothing shot in the end. That should give some relief for Australia for runs were coming far too quickly for their liking 79/4

He was a touch late on the shot as well as the ball hits leg stump. Australia have a wicket against the run of play. This one kept a touch low as well, something that will interest Sri Lanka's spinners. A second fifty in the match was there for the taking. He has himself to blame though 121/6

Nevill ventures out of the crease and searches for the flick. He ends up jabbing it straight to forward short leg as the ball dips, creating a fair distance between bat and the pitch. Excellent reflexes from Mendis. You little beauty. He stays low, collects the ball, and under-arm throws it onto the stumps at the striker's end, all in one swift motion, to catch Nevill, who fell over, short. How fitting is that? Mendis, who sparked SL's resurgence in Pallekele, finishes it off 183/10
