Day 1 of the Asian Games has kicked off with some major news for India. The nation has its first medal of Jakarta 2018 after Apurvi Chandela and Ravi Kumar won bronze in the 10m air rifle but there was major disappointment around the corner after Sushil Kumar was defeated in his first bout, after which his chances of competing for bronze through repechage came to an end after his conqueror lost in the quarterfinals. But the biggest news of the day was Bajrang Punia, who gave India's first gold in the men's 65kg freestyle event.
