Manu Ginobili among undervalued fantasy players

San Antonio Spurs guard Manu Ginobli is only owned in 22.2 percent of fantasy leagues this season. Andrew Richardson/USA TODAY Sports

Each Monday throughout the fantasy basketball season, we will take a closer look at the players who are over-owned (rostered in at least 70 percent of ESPN leagues) and under-owned (rostered in under 30 percent of ESPN leagues).

Here's a look at the players that stand out this week, with their ownership percentage listed.

Under-owned

Matz

Manu Ginobili, SG/SF, San Antonio Spurs (22.2)

Ginobili enters this week averaging 1.0 steal and 1.3 3-pointers per game, and as always he's an underrated distributor as well (3.7 assists per game). That shouldn't go overlooked, because it's not easy to find swingmen who dish the ball at the rate Ginobili does. He won't wow anyone at age 38, but he's a great streaming option this week as the Spurs play four games.

Matz

Ersan Ilyasova, SF/PF, Detroit Pistons (24.9)

Ilyasova isn't a primary scoring option on the Pistons, but that's OK because he stuffs the stat sheet in many other ways. He enters Monday having averaged 11.2 points, 6.8 rebounds, 0.8 blocks, 1.0 steals and 1.5 3-pointers per game over the last five contests, and is playing close to 30 minutes a night during that span. With Marcus Morris struggling offensively, Ilyasova's role in the offense is all the more important, and at this point he should be owned in more than a quarter of ESPN leagues.

Matz

Mirza Teletovic, PF, Phoenix Suns (14.4)

If you're looking for big men who shoot the 3-pointer, Teletovic is one who can really help. He has made 2.1 3-pointers per game so far this season, and has seen his production pick up in recent weeks since Eric Bledsoe went down with a season-ending knee injury. Over the past five games, the 30-year-old forward has averaged 15.2 points and 4.6 rebounds, and he's made 3.0 3-pointers per game. As long as Teletovic continues to play right around 20 minutes a night, he's someone to consider due to his ability to hit from deep at the power forward position.

Over-owned

Matz

Julius Randle, PF, Los Angeles Lakers (77.1)

Randle is owned in over three quarters of ESPN leagues, and the best question at this point might be "Why?" While he enters the week averaging nearly a double-double (10.7 PPG, 9.4 RPG), he is sharing minutes with rising rookie Larry Nance Jr. at power forward and shooting very poorly from the field (40.3 percent for the season, 34.1 percent over the last 10 games). That isn't going to cut it from a power forward, especially one like Randle, who is a non-factor in terms of blocks (0.1 BPG) and 3-pointers (0.1 3PG), plus a poor source of steals (0.7 SPG).

Matz

Evan Fournier, SG/SF, Orlando Magic (70.5)

Many people have asked whether to drop Fournier, and I've hesitated to say yes because he just plays so much (31.9 MPG on the season). Fournier is a useful scorer (13.8 PPG), 3-point shooter (1.9 3PG) and secondary passer (2.7 APG), but if there was ever a time to drop him for other options, this week would be it -- Orlando plays only one game all week (Thursday against Toronto in London).
