Check out the rest-of-the-season points rankings for this week below. The top is still fairly stable, but once out of the top 20 we start to see some interesting volatility, especially among players newly returned from injury.

Rest-of-season points-based rankings breakdown by position

Point guard

Jrue Holiday has to produce as the primary perimeter threat for the New Orleans Pelicans for the team to succeed, and during the past couple of weeks, he is settling into that role. He is averaging 25.0 PPG, 8.4 APG, 4.3 RPG, 2.1 3PG and 1.7 SPG during his past seven outings to start to rise in the rankings.

Kris Dunn returns on Monday. Shout out to my Twitter (@ProfessorDrz) followers Cambeezy and Daniel Hodgetts, who engaged me on Dunn last week and got me really thinking about how to project him moving forward. I'm defaulting to near my preseason values, though I will have a close eye on whether his value changes with all of the craziness with the Bulls right now.

Collin Sexton has eight 20-plus point games since November 10, including three in a row, and is seriously ramping into one of the most prolific scorers in this rookie class. He is averaging 19.7 PPG (48.0 FG%, 85.7 FT%), 3.9 RPG, 3.1 APG and 0.9 3PG during his past 10 outings.

Shooting guard

Malcolm Brogdon is directly benefiting from all of the defensive attention that Giannis Antetokounmpo draws and has taken advantage of that lately to the tune of 18.6 PPG, 5.0 RPG, 3.8 APG and 2.9 3PG during his past eight contests.

Jeremy Lamb has been playing well for awhile now, averaging 18.0 PPG, 6.7 RPG, 1.8 APG, 1.5 3PG and 1.4 SPG during his past 13 outings. Shoutout to @AceHolein1 on Twitter, who wanted me to move him up last week ... the numbers worked out this week to do so.

Gary Harris is out for the next 3-4 weeks with a hip injury, a significant enough portion of the season to drop him in the rankings. Will Barton will return at some point, as well, which could affect Harris' potential down the road after he returns.

Small forward

Brandon Ingram is sidelined with a sprained left ankle, which hurts his stock a bit. In addition, the team has looked good in his absence, fanning the fires of those who think that he isn't a great fit with the current Lakers. Finally, there are rumors that the Lakers are after Trevor Ariza, who plays Ingram's position, to further erode confidence in the youngster.

Bojan Bogdanovic and Bogdan Bogdanovic were brought to my Twitter feed last week by Geoff Bansen, who felt like I should have Bogdan ranked higher than Bojan. Both are relatively close in value, and that's reflected this week with Bojan ranked 113th and Bogdan at No. 135.

Power forward

John Collins was one of my favorite "sleepers" this offseason, as everyone expected him to get better and he looked absolutely dominant in Las Vegas. His preseason injury lowered his stock, but during the last week, he has averaged 24.8 PPG, 12.0 RPG and 2.0 APG in four games to start moving closer to where I expect him to finish.

Paul Millsap was in this space last week for good play, but this week, he slides after breaking his toe. This does give Trey Lyles more opportunity to shine in the short term, though.

Lauri Markkanen is going through the same early season growing pains that everyone else did, but since he's doing it at a time when everyone else has stabled out, he looks more volatile in the rankings. I projected him to score almost 19 fantasy points per game, which would be firmly in the top 20, so my expectation is that when he stables out, he'll be moving well up in the rankings.

Center

JaVale McGee was always going to be affected by the presence of Tyson Chandler, and we're seeing that more during the past week. Chandler has averaged 21.6 MPG with 10.0 RPG during his past five games, which has limited McGee to 10.0 PPG, 8.2 RPG and 0.8 BPG in 21.2 MPG during his past five games. Still solid, but a clear step down from how he started the season.

DeMarcus Cousins starts the final stages of his recovery on Monday, as he joins the G League to get in some extra work. He should be ready to go sooner rather than later, which makes things very interesting for the Warriors and their rotations moving forward.

Bam Adebayo averaged 18 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal and 1 block over the weekend and has serious upside if Hassan Whiteside ever has to miss significant time.

Methodology

I calculated preseason projections for more than 320 players to feed the fantasy draft kit, and we now have in-season player data to give feedback on how players are performing. The rest-of-season rankings are influenced by my projections, current player performance, injury and player situation factors to quantitatively estimate the rest-of-season rankings with more precision.

Also, our rankings include arrows to indicate whether a given player made a notable move up or down the rankings since last week. This helps keep you up to speed with how player values are changing during the course of the season.

Note: These rankings reflect the expected player value for the remainder of this season.
