England women's star Fara Williams scores direct from kick-off vs. Arsenal

England international Fara Williams returned to haunt her old side as Reading registered an impressive 2-1 away win over Arsenal in the WSL Cup on Sunday afternoon.

Williams opened the scoring in the first half only to see Beth Mead equalise just after the hour mark.

However, from the resulting restart, Williams wasted little time grabbing her and Reading's second goal of the game by stepping up to smash one in directly from kick-off.

What a superb strike. Incredible conviction from 50-plus yards out.

The Royals held on to secure the victory and passage into round three of the competition while Williams, who only signed from Arsenal back in August, was left to celebrate scoring her fourth and fifth goals in just six appearances for her new side.
