Can Tottenham derail runaway leaders Liverpool?

We landed a 9/4 winner as Manchester City beat Manchester United in the Carabao Cup but Leicester scuppered a 5/1 treble after they were held to a 1-1 draw by Aston Villa. The Premier League returns this weekend and the big question can Tottenham derail runaway leaders Liverpool when the pair clash in north London?

Running total: -£15.52

The Banker

Liverpool's relentless march to what would be a first ever Premier League title shows no sign of slowing down with the Reds now unbeaten in 37 Premier League matches. Remarkably they've won 32 of those games and should prove too hot for a Tottenham side who will be without injured striker Harry Kane. After a promising start, Jose Mourinho's honeymoon at Spurs is definitely over. They've not won any of their last three and were last seen drawing 1-1 at Middlesbrough in the FA Cup.

Liverpool have played a lot of football recently but Jurgen Klopp has not been afraid to rotate his squad and, having won eight from nine in the league away from Anfield, they start as rightful favourites here. Tottenham have struggled defensively all season and, with just two clean sheets so far, they may not have an answer against a side averaging 2.8 goals a game on the road this term.

Selection: £5 on Liverpool to win & over 2.5 goals at 7/5 with bet365.

The First Goal Flutter

Having missed the Manchester derby in midweek the smart money is on Sergio Aguero starting for Manchester City at Aston Villa on Sunday. The Argentine remains a killer in front of goal and has bagged 10 goals already this season despite some niggling injury problems, averaging a goal every 91 minutes. He's an 11/4 shot to score first against a Villa side who have yet to beat a team in the top half this season.

Selection: £4 on Aguero to score first at 11/4 with bet365.

The Tasty Treble

Odds of 11/10 for both teams to score looks a cracking price when Chelsea host Burnley. The bet would have landed in four of the last five meetings between the teams and the Blues have managed just three clean sheets at home in the league so far this season.

Elsewhere, goals look assured when Arsenal travel to Crystal Palace. An incredible 23 goals have been scored in the last five meetings between these teams and, while the early signs look encouraging for Arsenal under Mikel Arteta, they may struggle against a lively Palace attack so both teams so score at 7/10 looks fair enough in Saturday's early kick-off.

Finally, take the 4/9 on Manchester City beating Aston Villa by more than a goal. City are vulnerable defensively but remain one of the most vibrant and creative teams in Europe, scoring 56 league goals already this season in just 21 matches. Villa have some serious injury concerns and will miss John McGinn in midfield. The treble pays over 4/1 with bet365 and looks to have every chance.

Selection: £4 on the treble at 4.15/1 with bet365.

The Euro Wager

Juventus are well placed to claim a ninth consecutive Serie A title but face a genuine test this weekend against Roma. The Bianconeri have not looked as dominant domestically as they have in previous seasons and are below Inter Milan on goal difference as things stand. However they tend to raise their game in this kind of situation and Maurizio Sarri's men should be trusted at 6/5 to get the job done in the Italian capital this weekend.

Selection: £5 on Juventus to win at 6/5 with bet365.
