Xander Schauffele is on fire.
After carding five birdies on his first nine during Thursday's opening round, Schauffele is not letting up on his second nine, birdieing three of his first five holes for a total of eight birdies on the round so far. If he maintains this pace, Schauffele is set to break the competitive course record at Valhalla. It is held by José María Olazábal, who shot a 63 during the third round of the 2000 PGA Championship.
