It took a while for the UFC to settle on a main event, but Ronaldo "Jacare" Souza vs. Jack Hermansson could be worth the wait, as two middleweights known for being finishers will meet in the headline bout of UFC Fight Night on Saturday at BB&T Center in Sunrise, Florida. The main card is on ESPN+, starting at 9 p.m. ET, with prelims on ESPN at 7 p.m. and early prelims on ESPN2 at 5:30.

Souza (26-6-1) has finished his last six victories, most recently a KO of former champion Chris Weidman in November. Hermansson (19-4) has won three in a row, all finishes.

But Souza and Hermansson were not originally matched up. The UFC initially planned on Yoel Romero vs. Paulo Costa for this event, then replaced Costa with Souza. When Romero pulled out, Hermansson was brought in. Souza got not only a new opponent but also an assurance from UFC president Dana White that a win will earn him a title shot.

Overall, the card is stacked with notable veterans: bantamweight John Lineker, heavyweight Andrei Arlovski and lightweight Jim Miller among them.
