Team USA squeeze past Boomers: As It Happened

The Boomers and U.S are set to face off in one of the most hotly anticipated contests of the Rio Olympics.

Both teams are undefeated after two group games, and the Boomers have proven they're a genuine medal chance after defeating the fifth and sixth-ranked teams in the world (France and Serbia respectively).

Team USA have shown they are still the side to beat after dismantling China and Venezuela by a combined 101 points.

The dominance of both sides cannot be understated as they're ranked first and second in points, points against, assists and rebounds.

Matthew Dellavedova may well be the No. 1 player after two games but he'll have his hands full against former Cleveland teammate Kyrie Irving.

The Boomers have openly stated their aims for gold at Rio and they will fancy their chances against the mighty U.S team. Win and they'll vault into gold medal contention and lose the moniker of underdog status for the remainder of the Olympics.
