Scott Williams has been recalled to the Wales squad for the autumn internationals as a replacement for the injured Tyler Morgan.

Dragons centre Morgan sustained an ankle injury in his side's 28-14 defeat at the Ospreys last Friday.

It was confirmed Wednesday morning that the knock would rule him out of Wales' end-of-year programme and the centre, 22, has been released back to his region.

Williams is the main beneficiary of the news, having been one of the big-name casualties of Wales coach Warren Gatland's original squad.

The Scarlets centre now has an opportunity to add to his 48 Test caps and will compete with Owen Watkin, Owen Williams, Rhys Patchell and Rhys Priestland for a spot in Gatland's midfield.

"Tyler Morgan's ankle injury sustained in the fixture for the Dragons against the Ospreys last weekend will preclude him from taking any part of the Under Armour Series," a statement released by the Welsh Rugby Union read. "With this in mind he will continue his management at his region."

Wales begin their November campaign against Australia a week on Saturday, before games against Georgia, New Zealand and South Africa.
