England International Maro Itoje has signed a contract extension with Saracens that will see him remain at the Premiership club until 2022.

The 24-year-old lock played his 100th game for the club in October, and said he was pleased to sign on for another three-and-a-half years.

"I've been at the club for 10 years now so I am really excited to see what the future holds for this great team," Itoje added.

The lock has won three Premiership titles with Saracens, as well as consecutive Champions Cups in 2016 and 2017.

The 2016 European Player of the Year also captained Saracens to LV= Cup glory in 2015, at just 20-years-old.

Mark McCall, Saracens' director of rugby, added: "At Saracens, we take pride in developing players from within.

"[Maro] is part of a large group of home grown players who have committed their futures to the club."

Itoje is part of England's Six Nations squad, and is likely to start against Ireland at Aviva Stadium on Feb. 2 in his nation's tournament opener.
