ATLANTA -- Brandon Silvers threw for 335 yards and two touchdowns as Troy handed Georgia State its first Sun Belt loss, 34-10 Saturday.

Just minutes after the Panthers took a 3-0 lead in the first quarter on a 30-yard field goal, Silvers hit John Johnson with a 49-yard touchdown pass that gave the Trojans a lead they never surrendered. Silvers followed that with a 6-yard strike to Deondre Douglas to make it 14-3 and Douglas dashed 35 yards on a reverse for a score to make it 21-3 minutes later.

It was a bounce-back victory for Troy (5-2, 2-1), which suffered its first conference loss last week, despite owning the top-ranked defense in the conference.

The loss snapped a three-game win streak by Georgia State (3-3, 3-1). Conner Manning completed 25 of 40 passes for 255 yards and a touchdown, but the Panthers were held to just 52 rushing yards.
