Mitchell grabs last-second TD, Bethune-Cookman beats NCCU

DURHAM, N.C. -- Keavon Mitchell came down in the end zone with a last-gasp catch as time expired to give Bethune-Cookman a 13-10 victory over North Carolina Central on Saturday afternoon.

NCCU's Chauncey Caldwell had just hit Xavier McKoy from the 4 to give the Eagles their first lead, 10-7 with :16 remaining. Caldwell led NCCU on a 15-play, 61-yard drive for what appeared to be the game-winning touchdown.

A short ensuing kickoff gave Bethune-Cookman (6-4, 5-2 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) the ball 48 yards away from the end zone. Larry Brihm Jr. missed on his first pass attempt, but lofted the second attempt that found Mitchell for the win.

The victory has the Wildcats and NCCU (7-3, 5-2) tied for third in the conference.

Mitchell had just two catches for 59 yards. Brihm passed for 90 yards.

Caldwell led the Eagles, rushing for 148 yards and throwing for another 100.
