Boyland, Galvan carry Drake to 5-0 in Pioneer with 33-7 victory over Stetson
DES MOINES, Iowa -- — Dorian Boyland ran for 170 yards and three touchdowns and Christian Galvan added 115 yards and a score as Drake rolled past Stetson 33-7 on Saturday to go 5-0 in Pioneer League play.
The Bulldogs held Stetson to 283 yards of total offense, while their ground game churned out 293 yards and all four of their touchdowns.
Luke Bailey was just 8 of 23 passing for 97 yards for Drake but threw three interceptions but the Bulldogs' defense recovered four Stetson fumbles and picked off a Matt O'Connor pass.
Boyland and Galvan combined for 54 of the team's 59 carries for the Bulldogs (5-3). Boyland scored on runs of 4-, 7- and 1-yard and Galvan punched in from the 1 with 3:16 left to play.
O'Connor was 14 of 34 passing for 199 yards to lead the Hatters (3-5, 1-4).
