Iron too strong for O's

Two goals by Tom Hopper plus one apiece from Liam O'Neil and Gary McSheffrey gave Scunthorpe a 4-1 win at Brisbane Road against Leyton Orient.Darius Henderson replied with a penalty for the hosts but at that stage the Iron were already three goals in front.O'Neil put Mark Robins' men ahead in the 14th minute when the O's failed to clear a corner and the ball was collected on the left by the midfielder, who curled his shot past Gary Woods in the Orient goal.The O's keeper was beaten again after 28 minutes when McSheffrey delivered the ball into the box where Woods flapped at the ball but failed to connect.Scunthorpe put the game totally out of reach of their hosts four minutes into the second half when Paddy Madden broke down the right and picked out Hopper who only had to slide the ball home from close distance.Substitute Henderson pulled a goal back when he slammed home a 68th-minute penalty after being fouled in the box but the Iron completed a strong showing with another goal 10 minutes from time when O'Neil split the O's defence with a sublime pass for Hopper to slide home the ball.
