Skiverton leads Glovers to success

Yeovil started life without Gary Johnson by coming from behind to secure a vital 2-1 win over Crawley at the bottom of League One.Terry Skiverton got off to a winning start in the dugout thanks to second-half goals from Gozie Ugwu and Ajay Leitch-Smith.The interim boss made four changes for his first game in charge and he saw his Glovers side burst out of the starting blocks with early chances for Ugwu and Leitch-Smith.The visitors took the lead on 27 minutes through Izale McLeod, who headed home from Jimmy Smith's pinpoint cross.Gwion Edwards should have doubled the lead in the first minute of the second half when he was afforded acres of space to race towards goal, only to weakly strike into Artur Krysiak's hands.Dean Saunders' side then defended for the lives and survived chances from Ben Nugent, Stephen Arthurworrey and Joe Edwards. But they could not stand firm much longer and the Glovers bagged a vital equaliser in the 66th minute when Sam Foley's free-kick was nodded home by Ugwu. And six minutes later the hosts fetched a deserved second when Crawley failed to clear and Leitch-Smith nipped in to finish past Lewis Price.Yeovil held out for the win to climb off of the foot of the table, leapfrogging their counterparts in the process.
