Brewers back to winning ways
Burton returned to winning ways with a 1-0 success against Cheltenham to go back to the top of the League Two table.Gary Rowett's side withstood second-half pressure to protect the lead given them by Stuart Beavon to leave the Robins winless in five games.Adam McGurk could have given Burton the lead in the 22nd minute but fired straight at goalkeeper Trevor Carson from six yards. However, the hosts persistent pressure paid dividends 12 minutes later when John Mousinho deftly set up the chance for Beavon to shoot into the bottom corner from the edge of the box.Joe Hanks spurned a chance to level against the run of play before Carson's one-handed save prevented Beavon from doubling his tally in added time at the end of the first half. The Robins came to life after the hour mark but struggled to break down a solid defence, with Matt Richards missing the target from 20 yards and Hanks having a shot palmed away by home keeper Jon McLaughlin.Burton had some nervy moments in the closing minutes, Byron Harrison just failing to get a toe to Lee Vaughan's cross.
