O'Connor treble buries Bury
An Aaron O'Connor hat-trick gave Newport a 3-1 win at Bury and sent the Exiles up to eighth spot in League Two.O'Connor gave the visitors a third-minute lead before a defensive mix- up gifted him a second goal just before half-time.Danny Rose pulled one back for the Shakers after 62 minutes but O'Connor struck in stoppage time as Newport extended their unbeaten run to seven League Two matches. The Exiles made a dream start as Lee Minshull won back possession and Yan Klukowski played in O'Connor to slot past Scott Loach.Bury replied with Rose and Nicky Adams going close, but Loach then kicked the ball against team-mate Hayden White, allowing O'Connor to tap it into an open goal. The Shakers dominated most of the second half, with Rose testing Newport goalkeeper Joe Day just after the restart.Adams and Ryan Lowe were then off target before Rose fired into the bottom corner of the net from 20 yards.Chris Hussey's fierce strike was then parried by Day, Adams fired wide and Day tipped a Hussey free-kick wide in stoppage time. But Newport then broke and O'Connor rounded Loach to seal victory and condemn Bury to a third straight defeat.
