Chambers inspires Daggers fightback
Ashley Chambers scored twice to inspire Dagenham to come from behind at Victoria Road to defeat Carlisle 4-2 and give manager Wayne Burnett a much need three points. The visitors went ahead in the 16th minute when Derek Asamoah lifted the ball over after Matty Robson's centre. But Daggers responded in style with Billy Bingham equalising for them six minutes later with a low, hard free-kick that went into the bottom corner.Less than a minute later and Ade Yusuff burst through on goal and after his heavy touch forced Carlisle goalkeeper Dan Hanford to bring the forward down the rebound rolled to Chambers and he fired home to put the hosts ahead.Six minutes before the break and Jamie Cureton doubled the advantage as he smashed into the net following Yusuff's flick on to make it 3-1.And 47 seconds into the second half Daggers went further ahead when Cureton's centre was converted by Chambers for his second of the game. The hosts should have extended their lead in the 52nd when Cureton was fouled by Tom Anderson inside the box but the forward fired the resulting spot-kick onto the crossbar.Carlisle immediately reduced the arrears when captain Danny Grainger curled a free kick from 30-yards into the top corner but that was how it remained, meaning the Daggers earned a first win in the league since October 11.
