Mingoia inspires Stanley win
Accrington's Piero Mingoia netted 12 minutes from time to consign Portsmouth to a 3-2 defeat at Fratton Park.Pompey were punished for a lacklustre start after 11 minutes when Accrington's Rob Atkinson lashed home Luke Joyce's long ball into the box.Stanley doubled their lead five minutes later when John O'Sullivan gathered a loose ball on the edge of the Pompey area and drilled it into the bottom corner. The Blues hit back a minute later when Marcus Bean expertly curled home Danny Hollands' long throw from 20 yards.Ryan Taylor hit the post after 27 minutes, but Craig Westcarr made no mistake four minutes later when he lobbed Hollands' searching header forward over Stanley stopper Jack Rose.Accrington should have gone back in front after 38 minutes, when Matt Fish was controversially adjudged to have fouled O'Sullivan in the Pompey box.Amid a thunderous noise from the Fratton End, Joyce's low spot kick drew an easy save from Pompey keeper Paul Jones down to his right.Despite Pompey performing the strongest in the second half and dominating possession, Mingoia won it for Accrington with a precise low drive after 78 minutes.
