Shrews break Cumbrian hearts
Two goals in added time from Mickey Demetrious and James Collins enabled Shrewsbury to snatch a dramatic 2-1 win over Carlisle.Charlie Wyke had given Carlisle the lead midway through the second half and the home side looked to have clinched a third straight win until Shrews' double late strike.Only inspired goalkeeping by Shrews' Jayson Leutwiler kept a busy Carlisle attack at bay in the first half. The goalkeeper came up with a wonderful double save in the 19th minute, performing miracles to keep out a goalbound Brad Potts header before getting a touch on Antony Griffith's thunderous shot to turn it against the bar.It was a different Shrewsbury after the break as Bobby Grant lashed a shot narrowly over before Matt Young rescued Carlisle with a header off the line from Connor Goldson's effort.Shrews' top scorer Collins had a clear chance to add to his 14 goal tally after a slip by Sean O'Hanlon, but one on one against Dan Hanford he tried to slide the ball past the advancing goalkeeper who stuck out a leg to save. The breakthrough for Carlisle came in the 66th minute when Danny Grainger hoisted a long ball forward from his own half and Wyke eluded the defence to volley right footed past Leutwiler from 15 yards. It looked all over for Shrews until Demetriou rose to head home a corner in added time, then moments later Collins lashed home a right-foot shot from inside the area to provide a real heartbreaker for Carlisle.
