It's Lambe to the slaughter

Mansfield produced a smash-and-grab performance to snatch a 1-0 win at Newport thanks to substitute Reggie Lambe's late strike. The Stags survived a host of heart-stopping moments in a match dominated by the home side. But winger Lambe was the hero when he swept home the winner in the 87th minute.Even though the hosts dominated the possession, Newport goalkeeper Joe Day was the first-half hero. The former Peterborough keeper denied a close-range Simon Heslop header before keeping out Billy Kee's effort following another dangerous Lee Beevers cross.Lee Minshull started Newport's second-half onslaught with a flicked header from a throw-in that tested Mansfield goalkeeper Sascha Studer.Adam Chapman looked to have won it late-on for Jimmy Dack's side with two powerful strikes. He forced an athletic save from Struder with a volley from the edge of the box before cracking the crossbar from the resulting corner. But Mansfield swept upfield and Lambe coolly converted Callum Elder's cross from close range to snatch all three points.
