Annan off the mark

Annan Athletic secured their first point of the season as they drew 3-3 with Elgin City in a dramatic match. Annan got off to a dream start, midfielder Josh Todd picking up the loose ball in the box and firing home after 33 seconds. The lead lasted only four minutes, as Elgin's new signing Marvin Andrews was allowed too much space to wander up from defence and head home a corner. Annan were soon back in front after Kenneth Mackay ran past Graeme Beveridge and blasted into the bottom left-hand corner. But, shortly after the half-time break, a Craig Gunn penalty levelled the match before a rocket from the edge of the area by Archie McPhee fired Elgin in front. With only 10 minutes remaining substitute Derek Carcary scored with his first touch to get Annan off the mark.
