Alloa lift off bottom

Alloa claimed a 1-1 draw at Raith to move them off the foot of the Scottish Championship table. The struggling visitors held out for the final nine minutes with 10 men, following Kyle Benedictus' second caution, but top scorer Liam Buchanan's early goal was enough to secure a draw.Grant Anderson equalised for Raith before half-time, but Alloa held firm to take just their second point in seven league games.Buchanan has found the net despite Alloa's struggles and he duly scored his fifth of the season, and third in four games, on 14 minutes to send them ahead. The lead lasted just 20 minutes as Anderson equalised, but Raith goalkeeper David McGurn was busier when the second half began, twice deny Ryan McCord.Alloa were happy to take a point in the end though after Benedictus was shown a second yellow for a high and late tackle on Martin Scott.
